Sutivan

Sutivan ( Stivan) is village and port on he north coast of the Adriatic highest and biggest Dalmatian island - Brač, which is a part of Split-Dalmatia county.

It is one of the smallest Croatian districts with its surface of 2, 181, 31 ha, where you can find harmonious village Sutivan with a small group of houses in bay Vičja luka and tourist resort Mala Tiha in the bay with the same name, Mala Tiha.

Sutivan is a coastal resort which is the closest to Split (13 km) and in the past it was related with Split by shipping line every day. Today Supetar, adjacent port, has direct fast boat lines toward Split. This fast boat lines run throughout the whole summer season.

Deep and beautiful bays Stiniva, Likva, Stipanska and Vičja luka can be found on the coastal edge.

The most valuable land can be found in the end of the valleys and they go straight to the sea, and mainly anthropogenic soils can be found on gentle plateau in higher areas of the cadastral municipality Sutivan. There are more olive groves and vineyards than arable land, forests, pastures and barren areas. This kind of structure is a result of centuries of agricultiral production, and because of that community Sutivan is in the first place by density on the surface of the cadastral municipality.
